Blue Stuff

We went to Brenham this weekend on our annual bluebonnet hunt.

We had a picnic at a park, then off to the Baylor Ruins in Independence, TX for the flowers.

Aidan was thrilled that we finally found the blue stuff we were looking for.

If the field has a blue tint, you can bet people will stop to take pictures.

Field Trip

Aidan's class took a field trip to the butterfly exhibit at the museum yesterday.

But not brave enough to try eating a worm!

No joke--they have a vending machine full of bugs you can eat. Cheddar cheese flavored, chocolate-covered, you name it--it's probably there! Most of the class did try them (cheese flavored) and liked them. I only saw one gagging reaction! Many of the parents tried them, too. I had to turn it down due to religious reasons (I couldn't eat meat on Fridays in Lent--thank goodness!).

Wacky Weather

A cold front moved through yesterday bringing us hail! They were roughly the size of peas, then dimes, and finally quarters before dying off. It lasted 10-15 minutes, maybe. The sound of them pinging off the windows was pretty crazy.

Spring Break

Spring Break? Must be time to break out the pool.

Brennan wasn't too sure at first, but once Aidan was in the water, it was too good to pass up.
