Baptism

Evan was baptized on Jan 16th. He didn't seem to mind it a bit! Fr. Barker was nice enough to warm up the water for him, so that probably helped.
Here he is wearing the Schmid family baptismal gown made by my great-grandmother for my great-Uncle Joe in 1914. Evan is in the 4th generation who have worn it. Marian and Aidan were a bit taken aback that he was wearing a dress!
We were very fortunate to have some of Thomas' family come out for the event. His godparents are Thomas' brother and sister-in-law, Keven and Maryanne. The kids had a blast visiting with their cousins and grandpa. Mila, Aidan, Brennan, Becky, Maryanne with Tommy, Keven with Evan, Thomas, Marian, and Father Barker

You Make Me Giggle

Aidan is over the moon for Evan and always wants to hold him and have their picture taken. Whenever Aidan holds him, he giggles about something Evan does, so I thought this outfit was perfect for them.

Brennan, on the other hand, is just now acknowledging that there is a baby and that it seems to be here to stay. When Evan was born, Brennan was too sick to really take notice of anything different. After a week or so, whenever Evan would cry, Brennan would grab one of us and drag us to him, and then pull our hands down to wherever the baby was so we would pick him up. But I couldn't ever tell if he was concerned or just wanted the baby out of the swing or car seat so that he could play with the item. He would give the baby a hug if you were holding him, but didn't want to hold him himself.

Now he talks to Evan and pats his head, saying, "Gennn-tull". And I finally got a picture of just the 2 of them!

The Christmas Thief

I just thought this was an amusing photo: Brennan surveying his stash of goodies. He then determined it wasn't enough and went around looking through all the bags and boxes. When he didn't find anything in those, he just went around to Aidan and Marian's piles, and took a few things to add to his pile.

The Christmas Elf

Christmas Eve--ready for church
The little green hat made him look like a little elf.

And so begins the monthly growth pictures next to his bear.
