Leaving on a Jetplane

Off to South Carolina for a month of fun at the lake! We considered driving, but I chickened out, knowing that Evan *hates* being in his car seat for more than 20 minutes (or sometimes 5). I was greatful that we went ahead and flew since we found out later on in the trip (during some day trips) that Aidan and Brennan are prone to car sickness.

He did very well, and stayed in his car seat the entire flight--go figure!

Brennan was very excited to be on the airplane, but became a little wary once we were taxiing. He had the lady across the aisle and a row in front laughing at all his exclamations during takeoff! It's a little more force than he was expecting! But once he saw that she was lauging at him, he kept doing it all during the flight to get her attention. Such a ham!

Goodbye to Good Friends

Some of our favorite people moved to San Antonio in July (so close and yet, so far). Here's some pics from our last playdate:

Aidan and Evan were in the same pre-K 5's class at the same time Chloe and Brennan were in the same 1's class. It made party days super easy for one of us to be in each class taking pics of the kids, instead of each of us running back and forth between the buildings! Aidan and Evan were even in the same kindergarten class also. We will be missing them greatly when school starts next week after 3 years together!

18 months

The 18 month (June 2011) pictures were not a huge success. Every time I'd get him situated next to the bear and start to back up so I could actually take the picture, he'd follow me.

So we eventually had to go with the standing up version:

Evan has always liked hearing the piano played, and now that he can get up there, he likes to play it himself!

What fireplace?

In our 9 years of home ownership, we have never ever used the fireplace in our houses. Shocking, I know, since it's not normally fireplace weather, but there are times that it would have been nice. But my main reason is that I'm waiting for the kids to stop PLAYING in the fireplace. All I can picture is soot everywhere, or a broken gas line (if we went with a fancy fake one). Evy was being particularly cute today, waving bye-bye and shutting the curtain.

Brennan had to join in, too!

Last Day

Brennan had his last day of school today (next year he will be in a different class at a different school). They performed lots of their circle time songs for us ("Days of the Week" to "The Addam's Family" song, and such). My camera's battery died, so I had to take pics on my phone, which doesn't take the best pictures.
